Matthew 5:16

Matthew 5:16

Matthew 5:16

"16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

When confronted with a dilemma, many people raise the question, "What would Jesus do?". A better question may just be "How can I lift up Jesus in this situation?" We aren't God, and while we try to resemble and reflect Jesus, we will unintentionally fall short. However, the Holy Spirit works through us, in order to glorify our Father in Heaven. Jesus promised, we would do greater works than He (John 14:12). With this promise, we are able to boldly go and do works that bring people to know Jesus. We can't hide in a society that desires the bible to be silenced - we must let our light shine in order to bring Him glory.

John 14:12

12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father."

Prayer for this week:

Dear Lord, thank You for Your Grace. Thank You for Your overflow of love and strength. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit, which helps do works to glorify You. I declare in my heart that You are God and I am not, and I will boldly do things that lift You up. Please get all the glory from my life. I love You for who You are and what You've done, and I am eternally grateful. In Jesus name, Amen.
