Romans 6:1-7

Romans 6:1-7

Romans 6:1-7

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin.

Last week we discussed 1 Timothy 1:12-16 and the importance of understanding our sinful nature in order to fully accept grace. Now, once we've accepted Christ into our heart, we aren't meant to go on sinning and abusing the grace that God has given us. We are set free and born again. We aren't sinners in the eyes of God, but we are instead a new creation for His glory. The enemy wants us to remain stuck and make excuses, but whom The Son sets free is free indeed. We are free. The chains are broken, and the prison doors are opened. All we have to do is step into the purpose God has called us to.

Psalm to bless your week:

Psalms 51:10-12

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit."

Prayer for this week:

Dear Lord, I declare that in Jesus name, I am set free from any sin cycles. Thank you that I don't have to remain in bondage to sin, but now I can walk in righteousness. Show me your ways Lord and create in me a clean heart. I love You for who You are and what You've done, and I am eternally grateful. In Your name, Amen.
